Comments: The High Commissioner Of India I refer to the India Government's decision to increase the India Visa fees from £42 to £92 from 17th January 2013. This is more than 100% increase at a time.I am not saying the charges should not be increased. If they need to be increased then it should be a reasonable increase. I am residing in United Kingdom since 1970. Just to point out that, most British Indian families prefer to take their Children born in Britain to visit India to help them make connections with the country of origin. There is already a 'trend' developing amongst British born Indians around the whole issue of Country of origin and having some 'loyalty/kinship' to India. This huge increase in Visa fees charges will create lose of revenue for India + future generation will break connection with India thus losing their nativity . I am not saying the charges should not be increased. If they need to be increased then it should be a reasonable increase. Anil Mavadia

Comments: I strongly urge the Government to re-consider the economic impact in the long term, you may wish to consider a more structured way if it has to be done, bearing in mind how NRI's have greatly contributed to India's welfare in the past Please dont spoil the few pleasure we have left, Britain is difficult. Make it work

Comments: Persons of Indian origin should not be charged 100% visa fees. A small increase is Justified. I suggest people of Indian origins should be free to visit India without visas.

Comments: This is just a callous act on foreigners by the indian govermnent and selfishness to syphen out as much of the foreign currency like sterling and us dollar as they regarded to be the most lucrative when converted into rupees with such high exchange rate. It would be sad to see that lot of patriotism would be lost to india and people will look elsewhere for better times. Indian goverment should think over for such an outrageous levy on foreigners. If such a hike in price would have been put in india for anything what would be the outcome.

Comments: I would appreciate if the Indian government would not increase so much fees for the visas. I would like my children & grand children vist India & see & leran the culture. If the government increases the fees then it would be very expensive for a big family to have the visas to travel to India.

Comments: It is short sighted and insensitive to make this increasein the visa fees- the amount of money it is going to generate will be very little comparing with number visitors going to india and spending amount money. it is perhaps the people who are incharge of making the decisoin about this increse are not ccapable of understanding this smple logic. it is shame on the INDIAN government to put these such corrept people incharge of such an important area, who can not undersantd this simple logic .
