This petition statement is for state employees who have worked for the state of Florida for at least 30 plus years and who are now in the drop program (retirement). The purpose of this petition is to get the interest rate back up for those employees who are now in the drop program when present governor of Florida Rick Scott lowered the interest rate for the drop program significantly from 6.5% to 1.5% to 1.9% that means that thousands of hard-working state employees are getting cheated out of thousands dollars that they have rightly for earned. In addition to that when this law took effect he didn't even offer to give a grace period it just took effect 2 or 3 months after he signed the bill into law which was just complete unfair to those who were so close to that date. We need to raise the interest rate back up to least 3.5% because for a lot state employees this was their nesting egg safe net for a lot of state employees to fall back on.
