Name: Andrew Pelling MP on Dec 14, 2009Comments: While Croydon Council has ruled out an incinerator being built within the boundaries of the London Borough of Croydon, this will not be much good to our health if the incinerator is built just across the border on Beddington Lane, from where the prevailing westerlies can send the emission in our director.Flag

Name: Jonathan Essex on Jan 6, 2010Comments: I hope that this petition leads to a manifesto pledge from all standing, locally and nationally that incineration/gasification and the like will not be the way South London deals with its waste, but we choose to reduce, reuse and recycle instead.Flag

Name: Colin Withey on Jan 14, 2010Comments: The westerly winds do carry the stench, although lower now than years ago, from the Beddington Sewage Farm. That smell invades the shopping/leisure area of Valley Park and over Waddon estate often reaching Mayday University Hospital into Thornton Heath. I view this problem also affects the near parts of the London Borough of Merton. The fallout from a nearby incinerator will be greater and more constant thus affecting a greater area than that blown from the sewage works.Flag

Name: Ian Hunter on Jan 22, 2010Comments: The residents of Croydon should be urged to ask the Council to use the provisions of the Sustainable Communities Act 2007 in order to put pressure on the Government to require the developers of the incinerator to respect the views of the community, even if those views bring the Government into conflict with European legislation. Residents views should be paramount.Flag

Name: Audrey Thomas on Jan 23, 2010Comments: People shouldn't have to live in the vicinity of waste incinerators, which harm human health we need to find ways of disposing of waste or recyling it in an enviromentally savy way.Flag
