Name: Bree Breckel on Sep 26, 2003State: WICountry: USComments: In middle school, I was taught, "The right thing to do isn't always the easy thing to do, but it's always the right thing." I soon realized that this wasn't just true for young people; adults often shy away from doing what they know is the right thing. I ask that we don't back away from this issue, and do what is RIGHT for the health of the people of LaCrosse and the surrounding area. I ask that we be examples for the young people in the schools today, by letting our actions, not just colorful banners, influence what we wish to see our children learn. Thank you for your time and thought.Flag

Name: Sherry Poler on Sep 27, 2003State: WICountry: USComments: My family and I live on La Crosse's Northside which isn't too far from the incinerator. It's hard to believe that something which spewed toxins into our air is located right in the middle of a city. Please help us so we don't have to breath in these poisons. The Wisconsin DNR is in Xcel's pocket and useless. We need help from the federal level. Thank you. Sherry and Daniel PolerFlag

Name: Tom Wilson on Sep 29, 2003State: WICountry: USComments: Using carbon monixide as a surrograte for the toxins that are regularly raining down on me and my neighbors in Vernon County was a bad idea to begin with. To allow Xcel to further compromise our health by reducing the standards for CO is unconscionable --and opening up both Xcel and the DNR to further litigation. I am speaking for the many members of Northern Thunder, an environmental organization that has fought fro clean air in Western Wisconsin for over a third of a century and we will not allow further compromise for the profit goals of this company.Flag
