   Comments: After prayerful consideration, I wish to state this very clearly: I support the bishop and the diocese examining the situation at the Church of the Good Shepherd as they feel is necessary, and if they believe it necessary for the rector to be suspended during that process, I will trust their choice on that and withhold judgment until their inquiry is concluded. What I find most upsetting at this point is not how the diocese has behaved but how some in the church are behaving. Some of the statements I have heard and read (including some on the petition seeking Father Larry's reinstatement) are harsh and hostile -- I would go so far as to say, un-Christian -- toward those of us who honestly believe that an examination of the situation and leadership at Good Shepherd is justified. To fellow parishioners at Good Shepherd with whom I have shared so many years, I simply wish to say: I would NEVER question your sense that your experience with our church and its leaders has been all that you have needed it to be. At this difficult time, prayerfully and respectfully, I ask you to grant that I and others may have had a different experience and we are no less entitled to our feelings than you are to yours.
