Comments - Your opinion carries weight, please add a comment!: My child is a student at the Columbus School. The computer lab is obsolete and the computers are often not working. This is not acceptable. In today's world, computer literacy is one of the most important aspects of our child's education. Medford needs to step in and take control of this situation or our children are going to fall very behind.

Comments - Your opinion carries weight, please add a comment!: It is crucial that the computer infrastructure in our schools be upgraded. There should be a plan in place not only to address this issue immediately but also to plan for continuous upgrades. Technology changes dramatically in far shorter times than a decade. We should prepare for upgrades every 3-5 years not 10. I would propose a yearly or bi-yearly evaluation of infrastructure and computer needs. The current technology committee can perhaps take on this responsibility

She had some great teachers and was challenged, she also didn't have the greatest platform of support for her college activities or technology preparation as compared with the experience of her cousins in other neighboring towns. Not sur eif I can attend in person, but wanted to support this effort. John E

Comments - Your opinion carries weight, please add a comment!: Not only do we need to improve the infrastructure and (critically) add a budget item so we continue to do so, we must also improve the tech education options in elementary school. Playing "educational" games online with a librarian who knows very little about computers is NOT technology education.

Comments - Your opinion carries weight, please add a comment!: It is a shame for our children to have "computer technology" class in middle school with no working computers in the classroom. It is a shame for our teachers to have to use their personal computers because the school computers are so inadequate for their needs. There are minimum requirements for effective teaching and learning and Medford kids have the right to such teaching and learning.
