My name is Dawn French and I would love to be considered for the recent open School Committee seat, that of Mr. Eric Weiss. I have created my letter of interest for the Belchertown Selectmen and School Committee members to review. Typically at election time I would have been required to collect 50 signatures to be placed on the election ballot, but with the resignation of Mr. Weiss coming so close to the election, it was too late for me run a proper campaign for this position. I am currently due to "retire" from my 10 year role of serving as a Co-President on the PTOs in both Gardner and Belchertown. In addition I have enjoyed serving on the school councils for both Cold Spring School and Chestnut Hill for several years. I feel that this opening on the school committee is an opportunity for me to pursue the next logical chapter in my life of volunteering within the public school system. It's important to me to be able to show the members of our community that will vote to fill this seat, that I have the full support of the Belchertown parents and voters. What I ask of you here is for your blessing and your formal support in my efforts to obtain this open seat. By signing this "petition" you are stating that you would support me in taking an active role on the Belchertown School Committee for the remainder of Mr. Weiss' term (which has 1 year remaining). Thank you in advance, your confidence in me is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, Dawn French
Please take note...the online "petition" site asks you for a donation at the end to help their site, please do not get confused an actually donate to their website page. This is simply to get signatures for my letter :-)
(note: Belchertown registered voters only please)
