I am a student at UWaterloo in Canada and am also disappointed with my institution's collaboration with Technion. We stand in solidarity with all others fighting institutionalized murder.
As a Cornell engineering alumnus, I am disappointed that Cornell will be helping though it's work with technion to develop the Israeli military power being used to kill and maim Palestinian civilians, already under years of siege, collective punishment, water and land confiscation, institutional racism, all forms of apartheid, and restrictions on movement and occupation.
As a Cornell alumnus, i strongly condemn my alma mater's collaboration with Israeli institutions until Israel can be made to comply with international and humanitarian law
I OPPOSE CORNELL UNIVERSITY'S COLLABORATION WITH TECHNION. While this initiative is sure to benefit Cornell University and the City of New York in many ways, the partnership with Technion means that these benefits will come at the expense of Palestinians living under Israeli occupation and, thus, also of the moral standing of the University and the City. More than any other university in Israel, the Technion, which is involved in the research and development of military and arms technology, is directly implicated in war crimes.
It is shameful that one of America's finest universities would have such a moral blind spot.
Viva Palestina!
