* The standards students are expected to meet upon exiting kindergarten are rigorous, and unreasonable to meet in the in the current half day program.

* The National Education Association (NEA) says, "Fact: All children benefit from high-quality full-day kindergarten programs."

* The Illinois State Board of Education states that 76% of Illinois kindergarteners attend full-day programs and 90% of Illinois elementary schools offer full-day kindergarten; specifically our neighboring districts of Bensenville District 2, Rhodes District 84.5, River Grove District 85.5 and Franklin Park District 84.

* The students of district 83 deserve equal access to full-day kindergarten.
