Name: Theresa Lordan on Mar 16, 2011Comments: Mr. Imperati has made a difference in so many lives of the students at Sliney school. His field day is a wonderful community building event that everyone looks forward to and enjoys. He has also made the gym available to children with special needs who need motor breaks throughout the day. These motor breaks can be so important to these children and Marco has always made sure the gym could be used to help these students. Loosing Marco would be a great loss that Sliney can not afford.Flag

He is supportive to all the children in our school and takes extra time with those who might need additional support. It would be a significant loss to our school if we were to lose Marco.Flag

Name: Ginger Dendas on Mar 16, 2011Comments: We do not need just another gym teacher at Sliney, we need Marco Imperati. Our school has been through tremendous heartache and upheaval this year and our children do not need another loss. Marco cannot be replaced by just anyone. This was a cut that was not thoroughly thought out.Flag

Cutting Mr. Imperati's position to part-time may solve a budget problem, but the cost for Branford's children will be too great.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 20, 2011Comments: In today's society, many people are continuing to suffer from the loss of jobs as a result of our fallen economy. The budgets are tight and important decisions have to be made. This is the moment when one decision will make or break the integrity of our school system and possibly demean the message we are striving to teach our children. Mr. Imperati has shown his loyalty to the children at Sliney School as well as to the Town of Branford. Lets show the same loyalty to Mr. Imperati by allowing him his full-time position at Sliney School, where he has worked so hard the past 5 years developing a more successful and memorable physical education program for all the children that pass through Sliney School. It would be a decision made that would never be regretted.Flag

Name: Daniel Caprio on Mar 20, 2011Comments: Marco Imperati is a wonderful person and a true, honest and close friend of mine. The school system of Branford would be making a huge mistake to let a person of his stature go. He loves his job and all of the kids who he tries so hard to teach and help improve learning year round. Hopefully this petition and the comments of others will show how much he will would be missed if that decision were to be made. I ask that you highly reconsider, and continue to let Mr. I. help these kids grow each and every day . Thank you.Flag

Name: Joseph Pepe on Mar 21, 2011Comments: As someone who works in the Health and Wellness field I see people struggle every day with their exercise, nutrition, and overall well being. And the reason for this is not so much a lack of effort, but rather a lack of education on such important subjects. This education must start at a young age and it happens through our school systems. Our obesity rate is rising in this country (almost 70%) because children aren't being taught at a young age the value of exercise and nutrition. Marco Imperati is a man that possesses the passion for these fields as well as the ability to communicate this to our youngsters. I have known Mr. Imperati for just about all my life and I have yet to meet someone with a greater work ethic. He loves what he does, and he uses that passion to motivate and inspire those that he comes into contact with. Losing Mr. Imperati would be a travesty to any school or organization and would have an immediate negative effect on all those students that would miss out on his teaching.Flag

Name: Kathryn Coppola on Mar 21, 2011Comments: Please don't cut Mr. Imperati! He's SUCH a great teacher, involved with the students and the community in general. For someone so young to have such an impact is a rarity. How much is an outstanding teacher and role model worth to our children? MUCH more than the $20K you'll be "saving". Please reconsider this cut. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of this petition.Flag

He is a dependable and reliable leader who demonstrates the skills, passion, and confidence needed to support and inspire all students to be successful learners. He would be a great loss to your school's environment and to the students he supports each day.Flag

Mr. Imperati cares about the students and being a positive influence in their lives. I feel that the students of Branford will greatly benefit from having Mr. Imperati as a full time teacher. Mr. Imperati cares about making a postive impact on the students future. Thank you for your timeFlag

Name: MICHELE M DEL FRANCO on Mar 22, 2011Comments: Marco Imperati is a person that enjoys his work, the kids and everything that goes with it. On a personal level he has helped coach my daughter in basketball and the team responded to him instantly. He has a way about him that the kids are drawn to and respect. Young, energetic teachers is what the community needs. Teachers that want to come to work and make a difference, not teachers that go there to put there time in and punch out at the end of the day and forget about the kids. Marco Imperati makes a difference, losing him would be Sliney's loss.Flag

Mr. Imperati genuinely cares about our children and without support of teachers like him, our children suffer from mediocre care and education. Physical education is a full-time position, not half-time. Elementary school children NEED physical education. Mr. Imperati has been so good for our children.Flag

He encourages students to work together, to develop their individual strengths, and to feel confident in their physical ability. He clearly has a gift for working with elementary level children. The students trust him and parents see him as a bedrock of calm stability at our school. He is such an important part of what makes Sliney great that we would feel it a real loss to see him go.Flag
