The PA Public Utilities Commission, Governor Tom Corbett and State Senator Tim Solobay are working with Texas-based natural gas companies to deny $1,000,000 in Marcellus Shale impact fee money to the four communities who stood up and challenged the gas industry giveaway that is Act 13. Mt. Pleasant, Cecil, Robinson and South Fayette Townships are all illegally being denied their Impact Fee money because Texas-based Range Resources and their leaseholders filed phony complaints about their ordinances and the Corbett-appointed PUC used those complaints to withhold money destined for dealing with impacts of drilling. This precedent is both illegal under Act 13 and sets a very dangerous precedent for all of Pennsylvania. All a drilling company needs to do now is make a complaint, whether it's legitimate or not, and by stopping the Impact Fee money they will have the entire community at their mercy.
