Name: Noah Lawrence Egerton on May 17, 2012Comments: Usage of military tribunals to try civilians is an outrage, as is usage of military force on civilians, as is any attempt to quell protests. The right to freedom of speech and expression does not emanate from the United States alone, nor does it emanate from any particular doctrine. It does not come from the Western Hemisphere, and nor is it unique to it. It is not a thing for some groups and not others, it is a thing for everyone, from the most loved to the most hated of all. Free Speech does not come from any country, and no country can claim ownership, nor can any country deny this right to people: Free Speech comes from On High, and is a thing that human beings are born with. It is as much a part of being human as breathing is, and people cannot live without it. This right is inalienable, and while I may be oceans away, I stand with you in my support for your struggle against oppression.Flag
