Comments: I support raising the speed limit to at least the 85% level or possibly abolishing it if combined with tough enforcement of rules against cutting, weaving, not using the turn signal, and other aggressive driving.

Comments: 65 mph is ridiculous, especially because a lot of the state is open.

Comments: I've traveled from Chicago to the Quad Cities/Iowa. The speed limit on the highway is usually about 55. That's insane. It's about an 2.5 hour drive. There's hardly anything out there besides small cities and just road. The speed limit should be raised to atleast 75 maybe. NOBODY goes at the speed limit. Not even the trucker drivers...

Comments: 55 for trucks is WAY too slow for how open and spacious the interstate system across the state is.

Comments: I agree, speed limits are so slow, germany is the leader here showing more education, driver licensing skills and roads are the way, not lower speed limits and hammering people with fines. 2008 Shows Australia has a 0.007% of the 20 million people were killed. Germany 0.005% of 80 million with unlimited speed limits? Something is seriously wrong with the way America and Australia think towards speeding kills. (More like Driving Fatigue , drink driving and poor vehicles and driving skills)

Comments: I see squad cars always pacing motorists doing 85 to 90 mph on a 55mph zone. while it;s all good that cops don't ticket people doing and as long as motorists are in safe and non reckless manner, it;s still very frustrating if the cop decides to ticket a motorist just to meet their quota for the month. especially if they make you believe that it;s perfectly cool to do 80mph on a 55mph zone for them. reckless drivers deserve to be ticketed coz they endanger other motorists. but to ticket a speeder doing 80 in a safe manner with the rest of the traffic is just totally unfair.

Comments: I think that we should go back to the way it used to be 70-75 on rural interstates 60-65 on Chicago area expressways and 60-65 on 2 lane rural roads.
