Name: Jacksonville Pet Funeral Home And Pet Crematory on Jan 27, 2013Comments: I James Hughey a pet funeral director and pet death care provider for over 19 years here in Jacksonville see heatbreak everyday. Heartbreak that is expected at the end of a " natural and normal " life span for a pet. This on the other hand is beyond the scope of " normal ". Yes, I have see pets come to the end of their life suddenly by anothers unbelievable actions but not without criminal prosecution. This person's action's left a DEFENSELESS animal to suffer and die in a field.........ALONE !!!!. The maximum penalty for his actions is probabally not enough for punishment. Maybe this man should see, as I see daily, the suffering and anguish families go through when they are doing EVERYTHING possible to keep their loved and cherished pet alive at the end but still lose the battle. Maybe when he see's that child crying, that lady holding her pet and won't let go or that man on his knees asking GOD why he took their pet maybe then this man might understand that these animals bring NOTHING but unconditional love to our lives. Yes I support the maximum punishment.Flag

Name: Margie Jimmison on Jan 27, 2013Comments: I had a miniture chichuaha(?) that was shot in the head with a pellet gun. She was left to suffer and die. She had gotten out while we were moving a matress outside. After searching and putting up posters w/ a reward, the girlfriend of the attacker told us where to find our pet. She was dead. We made a report but nothing could be done. Animal cruelty is far too often left unpunished.Flag

Name: Valerie Heineman on Jan 27, 2013Comments: I, like others, condemn this cruelty to animals (and studies show this behavior leads to acts against humans) and feel the perpetrator deserves the maximum sentence plus community involvement which would include exposure to acts of compassion (animals, elderly, etc.) Possibly the laws should be reexamined to further deter these acts.Flag
