Comments: Something desperately needs to be done to change the way Illinois funds education. Illinois, one of the wealthiest states in the union, is 49th in funding education. This is not only embarassing, but I, as a taxpayer, am appalled at the way money is taken away from education to fund other projects. We must look at our future. The children are our future, and if we continue to underfund education in this state, we will pay a higher cost later.

Comments: I am a school principal in IL and I am apalled that we have to beg our taxpayers for more money because the government doesn't provide adequate funding to run our schools. Shame on you for lying to your constituents.

Comments: I am currently assigned to fighter attack squadron 131 in the United States Navy. I would certainly like to see schools get the funding they need to keep great teachers in the schools and to get the materials the schools need for the students. It is a very important subject for me as I have see n the school systems get worse every year due to lack of funds. I hope that legislators will feel the same way because I want to see the next generation accomplish much more than mine has so far.

Comments: I'm so very tired of working in a school system where poor children are punished for not performing as well as wealthier children who also have the benefit of twice as many resources in their schools, to help them learn. Of COURSE my children could learn more if they had all the resources of kids in the pricey suburbs. Why have politicians turned a blind eye to this problem for so many years It is nothing less than shameful. Lucy Klocksin
