Allow (no more than 2) ILGISA Board Members to be from the Private Sector

18 Signatures Goal: 100

Currently, the Illinois GIS Association (ILGISA) bylaws Article V Section 4 disallows any board member to be from the private sector. The current board is re-working the bylaws on a number of different fronts. Let them know you feel it is important for the private sector to be represented on future boards

It's no secret that ILGISA has had a hard time getting nominations for Board Membership. Why then would we exclude an entire active section of the GIS professional user base from being allowed to participate on the board? There are current ILGISA members who would be vital board members. We're not looking to take over the association and turn it into a means to peddel our wares (thus the 'No more than 2' in the title). Lets work together to build a strong Illinois Geo-Community.

Whether you are in Federal, State, or local government, Academia Non-Profit or Private sectors, Please Sign this petition. Your opinion matters.
