Name: Mr S.conroy on Mar 6, 2007Comments: Soldiers from Liverpool who have defended their country, some have lost their lives will always be remembered by family ,freinds and comrades. but i feel we need a physical emblem on the uniform of the amalgimated regiment to show that the memory and continuing existance of Liverpool soldiers is there.Flag

Name: Joe McGowan on Mar 7, 2007Comments: As a former serving member of 1st Battalion The Kings Regiment I find it my duty to sign this petition. My life, in particular the integral part of my life that 'The Kings' formed was instrumental in my future. I have considered myself a 'Kingo' since first wearing the cap badge at the age of 13 as a cadet. The Kings helped shape my life and attitude to life and I, like so many others will not let it go un-noticed or 'fade' as often happens to 'old soldiers'. The past shapes the future, the past should always be remembered and recognised. I speak as one surviving member and would hope the more important non surviving 'Kingos' will never be forgotten. The 'White Horse' is a fitting tribute to these 'Heroes' and should therefore be as immortal. Joe McGowanFlag

Name: Tony Holling on Mar 7, 2007Comments: I served with The 1st Battalion from 1991 to 2002. being born and breed in Yorkshire it was a huge comfort to me to be so welcomed by all the members of the battalion.I was not seen as an outsider from Yorkshire but as an adopted scouser. I have still and hope to keep strong links with my adopted family of scousers. "Nec Aspera Terrant"Flag

Name: S K Underwood on Mar 8, 2007Comments: I am first a kingsman and always will be ,I started out as a cadet in the manchester cadet force in the 60s 70s at that time I was re-badged to the kings, In November 1972 I joined the 1st Bn The Kings Regiment. My father was a 9th manchester man and we have been very proud and pleased to Have kept the Fleur-De-Le manchester Bagde. The New Regiment you have formed I feel omits one vital element of Recognition and this is the Kings Liverpool White Horse Of Hanover this is someting the Liverpool element of the Kings Hold with pride and I feel should be Upheld in the newly Formed Duke Of Lancaster RegimentFlag
