Name: Richard Willacy on Jul 20, 2007Comments: Winnipeg has a large CAPITAL REGION unlike most other western capitals that should be factored into the population base. Although Portage La Prairie, Brandon and Kenora are outside the CAPITAL REGION, these towns and cities all within a 2 hour drive of Winnipeg and provide a customer base that approaches the IKEA mandate of 1.000,000,000 people. An additional market would be the American cities of Grand Forks and Fargo which would help IKEA expend it's presence into the Northern States region. Seems to me that this is a win-win situation. Name: Anonymous on Jul 22, 2007Comments: I shopped in Ikea for the first time in Montreal in May and wow. its so much fun. Unfortunately I was flying so limited room in my luggage, but such great stuff and good prices, I know we can order on line but its much better to see the products before buying. A location in Winnipeg would benefit Saskatchewan as well as some Ontario residents and boost economy in Manitoba. There are plenty of places to build, or already existing buildings to take over and the cost is cheaper in Manitoba than a lot of other cities in Canada. Bring it on.Flag

Name: Patrick L on Jul 22, 2007Comments: There's no reason why Edmonton and Calgary can have an IKEA, when the market for such products is just as good here. So many Winnipeggers love IKEA, and there's no doubt it would thrive in our city.Flag
