They are not God. Let the money do the talking everyone. I will tell everyone about these new FORCED changes on our perfumes and the companies and bureaucrats will pay deeply.Flag

Name: Isabel Martin Osete on Feb 1, 2013Comments: I strongly oppose Brussels regulators who create havoc unnecessarily and mostly order allergy tests on allergic patients in the Perfumery domain, to seek the professional Perfumers advice and to look back on several thousands years of Perfumery evolution. For a very long time, Perfumery was used as a health remedy and prevention against epidemic contamination. Then, suddenly in the past years and for no valid reason, Brussels' bureaucrats have decided to interfere with this beautiful industry they do not understand and kill the fine perfumes of the past. Should they not rather concentrate on regulating agriculture, the pesticides and fertilizers used that make so many thousand people sick and are surely damaging our planet ???? Enough intervention please, leave us to create as we used to, nobody is dying from a simple allergy to a Perfume. My own mother is allergic to some of them which will only give her a slight head-ache. She knows it and avoids using those. It's as simple as that.Flag

Name: Lauren on Feb 22, 2013Comments: In light of the grave financial issues currently faced by the world markets, wouldn't it behoove the Union to create legislation that facilitated commerce and protected business interests? With all due respect, the legislation that is the subject of this petition has a chilling effect on the entire perfume industry. At the minimum, a hearing in which members of the industry are able to express their concerns and discuss the impact of these restrictions is certainly in order prior to the imposition of further restrictive legislation. The current regulations, which have curtailed the production of a number of natural botanicals and thus crippled a segment of the agricultural/horticultural industry of France and other Union members, should also be reviewed with an eye toward possible repeal. It is respectfully submitted that the end sought by restrictions on potentially allergenic ingredients could be accomplished just as effectively and with far less harm to financial livelihood of the perfume industry by requiring the use of warning labels, a device used by the American tobacco industry in conjunction with a far more dangerous product.Flag
