Idris Elba was slated to take over as Alex Cross in the upcoming James Patterson films.  This is no longer the case, and now Tyler Perry is supposed to be taking over as Cross. 

This can not happen.  Not only does he not share any character traits with Cross outside of him being African American, Tyler Perry has not shown us in any way that he is capable of anything other than cross-dressing.
