We call for State and Federal Apologies for the inhumane treatment of tens of thousands of people, who where forced to endure lives of intolerable hardship and immense suffering, in State and Federal Government funded Institutions, because they were labeled mentally retarded and intellectually disabled. Tens of thousands of people were denied a duty of care and their basic human rights; many died alone and suffered in silence and were abandoned by our Country. We want our Governments to APOLOGISE, to say SORRY to the people affected by this incarceration and address immediately, and in earnest, today's further injustices that continue to deny people, and their carers, a right to participate equally, productively, fairly and with dignity in this our beloved country Australia.
