| 310 | Chris Gray | Hell yes he should be there.
One of the high points of my career was to Have Ian sing a duet with me of "I Wish I was Your Mother"
on my Album "From Hope" By "Martin's Folly"
He is a great talent, inspiration and gentleman.

Billy Oblivion | I thought I'd already signed this. But I hadn't. I checked.
Sour Jazz | Cleveland doesn't rock without Ian Hunter.

Uncle Todd | Ian's songs can make a person feel angry, sad, happy, destructive... sometimes all of those in a 4 minute song. After 40 years of churning out tunes and still having the ability to be a vital singer/songwriter he deserves a place in the R & R HOF
W Garner | Mr. Hunter is most likey the most overlooked ARTIST in AMERICA ..........Thank You Very Much ..............Sir Ian
Aldo Fedder |
Frank M. (member of the German fan club "Ian Hunter Clan") |
Iven Lewerentz | Ian Hunter is the best singer/songwriter I know with an incomparable voice!! I hope my two Hunter influenced daughters also will sign here.
Chris Hauser |
Steve Council | Ian is due some recognition. I feel he has largely been ignored by mainstream media and this is someone who is continually cited by rock musicians as an influence.
Jacqueline Lewerentz | As my father said, Ian Hunter is really an outstanding singer/songwriter. My absolute favourite song is "Dead Man Walkin' ", I love it!
Paul Winters |
Hugh Dignon | Ian Hunter is one of the greatest song writers still living on the planet. Since the 1970's to the present day, he has continued to create songs of the highest quality. He has the ability to write rousing up-tempo rockers such as "All The Way From Memphis", "Cleveland Rocks", and "Just Another Night" as well as profoundly moving ballads like "Irene Wilde" and "Michael Picasso". His songs have proven to be extremely influential to succeeding generations of musicians. As the front man for Mott The Hoople and throughout his solo career he has always been a charismatic and vital performer onstage. As a songwriter, vocalist and musician his contribution to Rock music as an art form cannot be overestimated. It is high time Ian Hunter is finally recognized and honored as the great artist that he is.
Anonymous | Still rockin' after all these years....that's gotta be good for something!
Melissa Lewerentz | Ian Hunter is really cool and for many years a Rock 'n' Roll icon.
| 329 | Samuel Cummins | If Madonna is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I mean come on, the man can write a better song while wiping his arse than Madonna can in a shaman like trance. Induct Steve Miller too.
Ian Hunter is the dictionary's definition of modern music. It's not 1855 anymore. |
William Innes | Both Mott the Hoople & Ian Hunter (solo) are long overdue for recognition. Their combined influence and great body of work are such that it is a shame that neither has been recognized!
Cathy Kelty | What?! He's not in already! Dudes... put him in or I'm afraid it will lead to violence... apparently it's the only thing that will make you see sense.
Scott Mallender | Every year, it never fails to annoy me whom gets nominated , ahead of 'One of the Greatess'
John Magee | Ian Hunter & Mott The Hoople may not have sold millions of albums lining the pockets of the "Recording Industry" but their unmistakable influence can be seen and heard in hordes of bands that have come through the musical meat grinder over the last 30 years. While the mainstream music fan might not recognize the names Ian Hunter or Mott The Hoople, you would be hard pressed to find a musician who's face doesn't light up at the mere mention of their names. In fact, if they don't claim them as an influence on their own music, they will often give you a passionate dissertation on Ian's songwriting prowess or his undeniably hip and way to cool for school rock personna. Whether it's the catchy hooks, or the poignant balladering that gets you...once you get hooked on the hoople there's no 12-step program that can save your ass. It's time to bring this rock icon into the pantheon of his rock 'n' roll peers. Ian, you ARE the nazz...not just a buzz or some kind of temporary!
mark bauer |
Mike Cullens |
Henry Howard | Mott The Hoople as well.
Bill Hammond | The one, the only, the original, accept no substitutes.
John LeConte | Ian Hunter is the best rocker EVER!!! He's up there with Dylan and Lennon.
Anonymous |
Andy Baker | Ian should be in there. Someone who is continually quoted as influencing some of the biggest bands of the last 30 years, and with an incomparable selection of his own work should be recognised properly
Andy Allison |
Jared LeConte | One of a kind artist, an icon for all rock and roll.
Jem Dowse |
Lucy | Great petition Jo-jo!
lisa ronson | definitely deserves to be in the rock and roll hall of fame
Pasquale Truglia from Italy | Ian, Mick and Mott the Hoople in the Hall of Fame. That's all
Scott Wickman | If Ian isn't Hall of Fame worthy, I don't know who is.
Robert B. DeShong | All politics aside if anyone deserves to be in here it is Ian. Keep on Rockin'
karen rabcow |
