   Comments: The traditions of any organization are the business of that organization, particularly when they are of such a benign nature. It is unacceptable to consult with or bargain with another organization on what our traditions will be. We allow the Stanford band to take our field and perform shoddy shows, accompanied by often insulting commentary. Their antics and words cannot offend us unless we are willing to be offended. In the case of our drum major's salute, it is generic and aimed at no single foe, rather at all of our opponents. It it the trowing down of a gauntlet that says, our team intends to meet you in battle on this field. May the best team win.
