Comments: I fully support this action because it is about self-determination and the right to an education. The targeting of these schools is a racist political decision. As a community, we are aware that there is plenty of money to fund our public schools, and we believe public education is vital for a functioning democracy and thriving community.

Comments: I work for an School District and I know that many of the decisions come from personal interests and not for the students or community. Stop closing schools. You, as leaders of the community should fight for better financial support from the government instead of destroying lives of our future citizens. Think with your head and heart, so you can provide a compassionate solution to the problems that we face. Allow education, otherwise our youth may ended up in incarceration.

Comments: Two schools are closed in 14 business days in Portland, OR - Harriet Tubman (58% young women of color) and Humboldt (91% students of color). Now we see similar thing going on in other part of the country. We have to stop this. We saw other schools (>80% white) were giving a lengthy process to engage parents/community to find solutions to prevent closure. How come our schools were not given a due process to prevent closure? Why were we treated so differently? We have to keep asking these questions. We have to demand school districts fullfilling their equity policies, not just talking about it.
