The Harriet Tubman School for Leadership and Enterprise was formed because we believe there is no greater investment in the pursuit of excellence than an investment made in the hearts and minds of the children. Harriet Tubman School for Leadership and Enterprise’s (HTSLE) was founded in 2014. The mission of the HTSLE is simple: to institutionalize educational environments that will promote the pursuit of excellence, industrious mindset, and critical thinking. We are designed to equip students with foundational principles in leadership, creative problem solving, and entrepreneurship.

We are a community school that is designed to address the education needs of the entire community. The establishment of a strong community educational institution is proven to advance a city in every major metrics. Currently, the HTSLE is Located at 6980 Main St. Lithonia GA, 30058. The city of Lithonia is an underserved and economically distressed community that is in immediate need of redevelopment. The HTSLE will do its part. By establishing high performing schools in the neighborhood the HTSLE will join the ongoing efforts to revitalize and rejuvenate the once thriving city.

The HTSLE implements several progressive initiatives as it endeavors to become a conduit of social, communal, and academic advancement. Some of these initiatives include but are not limited to youth programs such as the Freedom to Be Day School, SOLE learning (Student Organized Learning Environments) , Kemetic Yoga, business development, Olympic archery and strategic chess. With equal passion, The HTSLE will host seminars, classes, lectures and certification programs dedicated to promoting the professional and economic progress of the young adults in the city.

CREATION, INNOVATION, OWNERSHIP and SELF CONFIDENCE are the truest goals of the Harriet Tubman School for Leadership & Enterprise. Our program is based on the following facts.

Children are born brilliant. The very essence of childhood is creativity. Creativity, as it matures, becomes innovation and innovators change the world.The HTSLE creates an environment where that creativity can flourish.

Students learn best when they are empowered. There is nothing more powerful than finding your own solution or answering your own question through effort. We have acknowledged the fact that even the greatest teachers struggle to match the influence of a one's peers. We have accepted this. Thus, we empower our students and apply an “it takes a village” approach that galvanizes the entire school body in the pursuit of excellence.

Culture matters. A disengaged student can never reach a fraction of their potential. The HTSLE’s agile approach to gathering and presenting information allows us to celebration our student's heritage. The confidence and pride that results are far more important than any result on a test. This attention inspires students and inspired students change the world.
