I am a Habs fan, I speak English only, but this is not about language. This petition is intended to simply show support for our current Canadiens and specifically our current Head Coach. In response to recent demonstrations outside the Bell Centre demanding a french-speaking head coach I felt it necessary to provide a voice for the thousands of Canadiens fans who don't care which language our coach speaks.
This is not meant to challenge the protesters right to have their voice heard - they are respectfully entitled to thier opinions. This petition's goal is to ensure our players, coaches and management all know they are supported no matter their language, gender, sex, race, country of origin, etc...
How many signatures? On the low end... some interest from fellow fans would be great. On the high end... 21,273 signatures that reach the Canadiens players and coaches themselves.
This is about Hockey. Our Canadiens. Our Team.
