The school board has reversed the previous directive and authorized the return of the prayer request board to the classroom. Your support throughout this process provided the necessary resolve to uphold the rights of our educators. We will remain attentive as the administration implements this updated policy.

Mrs. Rogers has come under criticism for having a prayer request board in the back of her 8th grade classroom at Oak Grove Middle School in Hattiesburg, MS. The board was designed to allow students to add requests they would like to have prayed for. The Lamar County Board of Education has caved to outside pressure and required Mrs. Rogers to take the prayer request board down. I support her efforts and appreciate a teacher who is willing to intercede on behalf of her students. This is a student-led initiative to show our support for Mrs. Rogers. We welcome any one in our community who supports Mrs. Rogers and other like-minded teachers in our public schools to join the petition.

The students asked for th prayer requests! No prayer was said out loud! This prayer request board in NO WAY was a disruption or offensive to the student who chose not to participate in It!
I support Mrs. Rogers! Today my son came home talking about kids in 5th grade doing a call the devil up challenge and was spooked out! Our kids need teachers like this! Keep praying Mrs. Rogers!
This teacher did NOT violate the constitution as was stated on WDAM tonight by the liberal lawyer who has inserted herself into this. The constitution VERY clearly says freedom OF religion, not freedom from religion. As hard as it will be I will pray for this child, this mother and this lawyer that started this. Very sad, indeed.
I feel that if she is not forcing them to write on the board and they are able to write at their own free will then she is not doing anything wrong. If she is not taking time away from the teaching then no harm is being done.
It's not the board that needs to be discussed, it is the few people that are offended that need the discussion. If it offends you then you do not have to participate, but do not take something away from the general population that may get something positive from this.

Please keep praying for Sam L. (one of the 8th grade students had listed his name on that board before it was taken down). Sam L. will be 14 on Sept 11. He was not able to attend school last year and is not able to attend this year, either, due to chronic serious illnesses. He would love to be able to be back in her class.
