Bremerton High School Coach Joe Kennedy has just been notified that he may be fired from District Employment if he prays on the football field again. In a three-page letter, school superintendent Aaron Leavell wrote that Coach Joe was only allowed to pray in circumstances “not observable to students or the public," and that "a private location within the school building, athletic facility or press box could be made available to [him] for brief religious exercise before and after games.”
This is a direct assault on Coach Kennedy's constitutional right to freedom of religion. Sign the petition today to tell the Bremerton School District and the State of Washington that we support the right of every man, woman, and child -- even public employees -- to pray and profess their faith publicly.

If other people of other religions have a right to live out their culture then why are Christians being treated any different. If it was a Muslim showing their faith its called tolerance but if your a Christian showing your faith then you are persecuted. This is so wrong.
School - you are fighting a losing battle if you fight him on his constitutionally protected rights! I helped my fellow students sue Lindbergh HS for a similar thing and it went to the SCOTUS and we won! Do NOT tread on the coach's rights. You will lose.
I support Joe and his freedom to express his religion in an open manner with prayer. I so support those who choose not to pray. That is also their right. If you deprive one of his right's eventually all will be deprived. Everyone looses!
Its one thing to tell a coach he can't proselytize, another altogether to tell him to make sure that no one: student or member of the public sees him praying. It's time to stop being afraid that young people might see someone pray.
This is a good man , been praying after games for almost 10 years till a atheist activist complained . Now he is being demonized and his job put in jeopardy . Considering what kids are exposed to in public school a voluntary prayer is refreshing .

lets not allow PC tyranny to destroy the foundational liberties of our State and our Nation, please allow Coach Kennedy to continue serving his student athletes with all his heart, mind and faith just as he has for so many years.
