5 AnonymousAnonymousUKIt is an excellent idea. My concern as an ordinairy citizen is accessing the papers legitamately so I can analyse the issues in an proper manner in newsgroups and elsewhere. Perhaps some kind of opencourseware initiative is needed re www.ocw.mit.edu. (access to resources can prove problemnatic despite of its virtuous provision) with appreciation and attitude of free enquiry.

15 MauriceFrankGBthere should be the safeguard of human rights challenges against the measures proposed in a citizens' referendum. Then it can't be used to bring back hanging or introduce racist laws, for example. It can only be used in a liberal direction.

30 MichaelPowellGBI have for some time had an interest in direct democracy as I feel that we, the public, are sometimes led to believe through clever, manipulative, innapropriate or misuse of language that representative democracy is the highest form of democratic political involvement that we can hope to have.

33 GrahamMcArthurNew campaign, campaignfordemocracy.org.uk Gets floating voters in key marginals to make DD (and more) the price of power. We should have the right to decide how we are governed as well as who governs us. One month in 300 supporters. have a look.
