Name: George DiBisceglie on Dec 13, 2002State: NMCountry: USComments: The excuse can always be made that we should wait until the technology matures before we undertake such a major endeavor. This would be a mistake. The internal combustion engine has evolved over the decades and has become much more efficient compared to earlier models. Fuel cells and hydrogen storage methods will continue to improve with time. This shouldn't stop us from deploying the current hydrogen technology. For instance, there could be competing hydrogen fueling methods at the same hydrogen fueling station. The U.S. Government needs to provide more financial incentives and tax breaks so that the transition to a hydrogen economy can be accelerated. Lets dry up terrorist financing by removing the demand for oil!Flag

Name: Mike DeVries on Apr 17, 2003State: CACountry: USComments: I would love to see this kind of investment made toward converting the USA into a hydrogen-based economy. I have long studied the potential and I am fascinated by how much we could benefit from this transition. If we could stimulate our own economy by creating the hydrogen-based economical infrastructure that would allow our country to supply all our own energy it would not only provide enough new jobs to supply those people now employed by the petroleum industries but by the billions of dollars it would save us from foreign expenditures on either oil, military policing, or foreign aid it would allow us to stimulate our own economy to the point that we could evolve technologically far beyond anything that anyone could possibly imagine. I would like to think of myself as a visionary of the future and I think that there is so much that we can do, we just need to take those first steps. So when I hear how long this is going to take for us to attain this hydrogen based economy in the USA, I can't believe what is taking us so long! The sooner we take that first step, the sooner we can start on the journey & path toward a new realm of technology which will carry us into a future of progress in so many other fields of research, development, and manufacturing in so many different industries that there is no reason not to start now! I would love to see us make that first step adn I would love to join the veterans of American to fight a real battle for the US to convert to a truly independent hydrogen-based economy! Name: Charles Nyce on May 7, 2003State: NCCountry: USComments: While I don't think that the "welfare for the rich" has anything to do with converting to hydrgen as out main energy source, I do support the transition. I'd prefer to see some form of tax releif for those who do make the transition. Similar to the insulation rebtes from the 70's.Flag

Name: Mike DeVries on Sep 14, 2003State: CACountry: USComments: I would love to see the United States' transition to a hydrogen-based economy before any other nation. I think this would stimulate our indepedence from the middle east, allow us to stimulate our own economy instead of others, and allow for the promotion of new era that ends our focus on the competitive attrition from the production of fossil fuels to the combined unification on a more focused global economy for the development of Research & Development for the benefit of mankind!Flag

Name: Al Finkelstein on Oct 2, 2003State: NJCountry: USComments: As veterans we have put our life on the line often to protect our access to cheap energy. We have done so even though other countries resent our presence and feel taken advantage of. Real independence means not having to rely on cheap imported fossil fuels which pollute our environment and require a military presence overseas.Flag

Name: Mike DeVries on Jan 10, 2004State: CACountry: USComments: I am deeply fascinated and enthralled with the concept of a Hydrogen Economy being created in the United States of America. It would be absolutely wonderful if we could do this as quickly as possible! The less time it takes the less pain we experience from the transition and the sooner we reap the benefits & rewards from deficit spending on energy sources in an petroleum-based economy to it actually becoming a national source of economic profit in a hydrogen-based economy! One of the things that really depresses me is that Iceland, trying to convert to a Hydrogen-based economy, is estimating 2030 to 2050 for a majority conversion but still they won't be 100% converted! I really think we could do this much quicker! It would be great if we could plan to be in the same potential level of having an established Hydrogen-based economy by 2010! Do you think that is feasibleFlag
