For many commuters in the GTA, we have noticed that the 427 is one of the most neglected highways in the GTA. It has not seen an upgrade in over 25 years (aside from the small extension north of highway 7 to offload all the large tractor trailers that were completely congesting the area 24 x 7). Going South in the morning is a nightmare. What normally takes 5 minutes to get from Hwy 7 to Hwy 401 takes over an hour. Going North in the evening is even worse. Some nights it takes almost an hour to drive 1.5 KM. There are too many cars are traversing the highways between the 401 and the 407 via the 427. All because around the Finch area, the highway goes down to TWO LANES! We need to open this highway up and let the cars go through. Less stress Less waiting Less pollution Shorter commutes... With the 427 expansion going north of where it ends now, it is only going to get worse. Please help support this cause to widen the 427 before it is too late. When the new subdivisions come in and the highway goes even further north, the 427 will be one of the most congested highways in the GTA.
