To all those concerned with the protection of human dignity and the promotion of sustainable human flourishing be it in research, practice or policy.

The humanistic management network has been encouraged to apply for Interest Group Status at the Academy of Management. For that purpose we collected signatures at the Academy of Management (>280), but were now told that the original bar (180) has been increased to 500. If you could help us to reach that bar, by signing the below petition it would be great. The AOM board gave  us until October 15, 2013, so not much time....

The goals and mission of our Interest Group are stated below.

Please feel free to share and sign!

----------------------------------

The purpose of the humanistic management interest group is to work on a multi- and trans-disciplinary basis across AOM divisions (similar to CMS) and with other relevant disciplines in the natural and social sciences  to develop and promote an alternative, holistic, integrative, scientifically based, humanistic paradigm for management: a humanistic management paradigm that revolves around the protection of human dignity and the promotion of sustainable human flourishing in harmony with the limits and resources of the planet.

Our objectives are:

1) To develop and legitimize a humanistic management paradigm, which values and protects human dignity and promotes sustainable human flourishing as the end goal of economic activity.

2) Connect like-minded scholars from all scientific backgrounds to develop, promote and disseminate the humanistic paradigm.

3) Connect academics, educators, practitioners and policy makers, to develop, promote, disseminate and apply the humanistic paradigm.

-------------------------------

I sign the petition as AOM member and indicating my interest in joining the Interest Group after formation.
