Council’s last July approval of the controversial Wal-Mart centred development at Centennial Parkway and the QEW had been under appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) by Hamiltonians for Progressive Development (HPD) and Environment Hamilton.This week the two groups announced a settlement with Smart Centres that requires the developer to build a sidewalk along the east side of Centennial Parkway, install bus layovers, and provide up to $50,000 a year to the HSR for four years to facilitate transit service to the commercial complex.
