Name: Michela Wrong on Dec 31, 2012Comments: I understand the longterm need to update Britain's rail network. What I don't understand is why HS2 cannot run underneath the existing track, rather than directly under the building I live in, Darwin Court, which is bound to produce vibrations and affect the stability of the building. Rather a lot of people live here. Please explain why this is the case.Flag

Name: Michael Brandman on Jan 2, 2013Comments: The proximity of the entrance of the proposed tunnel to buildings in Gloucester Avenue means that the tunnel can not achieve it maximum projected depth under all those buildings. In consequence the structural and general integrity of some of those buildings (including risk from vibrations) are unnecessarily put at risk.Flag

Name: Moray MacLennan on Apr 2, 2013Comments: Proper costing of what is obviously better for peoples lives needs to be undertaken. The whole rationale is about money and the UK P& L. Current arguments for the scheme are based on an extremely amateur and paper thin projections. Having spent my career plotting growth for companies it is fairly simple to see the case for is guess work and crossed fingers. The ultimate objective is one we all subscribe to but I am 90% certain this will not deliver and be an embarrassing error and growth would be far more likely if invested in the digital economy. I could go on..Flag
