Name: Anne Burniston on Sep 14, 2006Comments: I fully support the introduction of controlled parking in the Artists Corner area. Non-residents parking in this area include commercial vehicles, people going to Homebase who can't be bothered to drive round to the car park, people visiting the Dog Track, and even traffic wardens whose office is behind Homebase. I have had to park in Homebase car park on occasions, which is now becoming full in the evening, and commercial vehicles are also parking there, so I expect Homebase to start restricting access to private vehicles in the evening. I think it is important to get Homebase involved in the campaign, as they will benefit from restricted parking in this area, and it will add weight to the campaign.Flag

Name: Pauline Thomas on Sep 14, 2006Comments: Please don't let me encounter this problem again. At all three addresses in Hove in which I've lived I have always managed to be just outside the parking zones. I have become used to double parking, getting tickets and driving round for half an hour after a 12 hour shift trying to find a space. There is no need for these roads to have such a parking problem, as unlike some of the other streets in the area, many of our properties are still one house. Please, please give us our residents parking.Flag

Name: Rosie & Jason Scrase on Sep 18, 2006Comments: unfortunatly it dosen't matter what time of day it is in Prinsep Road, there's never a space... had my first ticket for parking on the double yellow lines at the end of our road last night... My question is this... Can I buy a zone R permit and then park in the litterally dozens of spaces left empty in sackville road or will our area have it's own zone clasificationFlag

Name: Sally Adams on Sep 18, 2006Comments: My husband and I agree with all of the above and would like to add that during last week and over the weekend, during the day and evening it has been impossible to park in these 5 roads, with the Poets area with lots of space! After collecting our teenager late in the evening, being unable to park in the 5 roads, I was left to leave my car near Curry's in Old Shoreham Road before I could find a legal parking place. I was not happy to be walking, late at night around closed stores for the want of zoned parking. Please, help. Thank you.Flag

Name: LIZ TURNER on Sep 18, 2006Comments: Although I have already signed the petition I didn't leave any comments as the above letter stated it all. However I had only just returned from my holiday & hadn't realised how bad the parking situation here had become. No, two weeks later, since the introduction of permit parking in Sackville road & Poet's Corner, I have noticed the difference and feel very strongly that a residents parking scheme is introduced very quickly. Although I can sometimes get a space during the day it is never outside my house, parking after 5.0pm & weekends is extremely difficult I have to keep driving up & down the 5 roads hoping a space will become available often with shopping, & sports bags that my 2 children need. I feel that parking should be free to residents & road markings with specific bays drawn out to solve the problem of cars having to squeeze into small areas & damaging cars. Along Sackville Road & Poet's corner there are now plenty of free parking spaces showing that non-residents, or those that don't have a permit are now parking in our streets.Flag

Name: Elisa Bertorelli on Sep 21, 2006Comments: I cannot believe how difficult it is now to get a parking space,I live in prinsep road and i cannot easily park my car even in the daytime . It is really unfair on residents that we have to park up too three streets away, this is totally unacceptable and those with young children its dangerous . I have noticed that under the bridge in the restricted area there are plenty of carpark spaces.I now believe we urgently need residents only parking in this area.Flag
