On Facebook I heard about the project HousingAnywhere.com: it is a platform where students that go abroad for an exchange semester or internship, can rent out their rooms. Incoming exchange students can then rent these rooms. It is therefore a platform that makes the empty rooms of outgoing students available to incoming students. I think we need to launch this project also at our university. The parties that will benefit are: • Outgoing exchange students: they can avoid double rental costs, by renting out their rooms during the semester abroad. • Incoming exchange students: they can rent a room in a local student house, this: -Gives them extra choice of accommodation -Gives them the opportunity to live in a local student house, and thus experience the local student culture. • University: With this simple mechanism, there will be more supply of student rooms, which will be a great service to the students. This will increase our reputation. I am going to present this project soon to the university. I would like to show that also other people besides me think that this housing initiative is a good idea to launch at our university too. Please sign if you support this initiative.
