The state has officially approved the acquisition of the Houghton Falls property. We are now working with the DNR to finalize the transition of this land into a protected public preserve. Keep an eye on the site to ensure the stewardship agreements are upheld as the transition moves forward.

Final supporters
Approximately 75 acres surround the ravine and falls, which has been identified as an area of interest in DNR’s Wisconsin Land Legacy Report. The availability of this extraordinarily scenic property, as well as federal and state grant funds to finance the acquisition, presents a wonderful opportunity to establish a public preserve to allow continued public access to this local treasure.

so happy to see this effort. houghton point is a local gem and deserves to be saved.
dont let them build condos there. the ravine needs protection.
This place is gorgeous. My family has been hiking out here for years we cant lose this to new developments.
truly a magical spot. lets make sure everyone can still visit it.
Enough with the tax revenue argument. Some things are worth more than a few bucks in the city budget.
