Name: Katheryn Meyers on Aug 10, 2003State: WACountry: USComments: I am suprised that a store like hot topic would agree to such a policy being that a majority of there customers seem to be of pagan orientation, and hope that this intolerance will not go on for long.Flag

Name: Mr Andrew Windhorn on Aug 10, 2003State: WACountry: USComments: You have chosen to ban items and product lines with the word(s) "pagan/wiccan/Witch" (et al) Well, after spending about 4-500 bucks that I can remember in the last few years for clothes for our children (Brandon, Anna, and Kevin) - as well as giving them money for purchases at your stores... WE will no longer be buying ANYthing at your stores, and I will be encouraging our kids to express their anger by passing the word that your policy is biased religous bigotry favoring the religious right-wing zealot xenophobes who by their (and your) actions are proven traitors to the constitutional principle of religious freedom. IN just the circle of kids I am personally familier with, I can assure you that you have just lost a few thousand dollars. And when we go to the next few public pagen fests, I can assure you, we will be passing the word there as well. In your decision to favor the idiots who do NOT spend near as much money as WE DO in your stores, you have made a poor business decision. Cordially Annoyed Andy W.Flag

Name: Sara Jenkins on Aug 10, 2003State: FLCountry: USComments: This is unacceptable and I expected better of a store such as Hot Topic. Why do you cave to the Religious (Not)Right when none of their "people" would ever shop at your store anyway I am hereby boycotting Hot Topic and Torrid and will be passing this information on to all of my friends who will also boycott.Flag

Name: Kirsten Cairns on Aug 10, 2003State: MACountry: USComments: As a keen shopper at Hot Topic, I am very upset and disappointed to learn that this is their policy - until it changes, I will have to reconsider whether or not to shop there in the future, as I do not wish to be buying from people who discriminate, in whatever way.Flag

Name: Jessica Antalek on Aug 10, 2003State: NYCountry: USComments: I think this is ridiculous--why would you sacrifice what your ACTUAL CUSTOMERS want because of what a bunch of religious fanatics (very few of whom would even shop at Hot Topic or Torrid) are complaining about Get real. You can bet I won't be setting foot in either of your Albany, NY locations ever again.Flag

Name: Maureen Duffy-Boose on Aug 10, 2003State: UTCountry: USComments: I run e-mail lists for Pagan networrking, with a combined membership of over 2500 people. I will be letting all of them know that Hot Topic and its affiliates discriminate against their religion in selecting merchandise. I believe most of them, many of whom are in Hot Topics' targeted customer base, will cease shopping there. You are cutting off your own income, for people who already are not buying your products. Foolish!!Flag

Name: Ce-ce Cox on Aug 10, 2003State: PACountry: USComments: There are a LOT more either Pagan, or Pagan friendly people than the "Religious Right" fanatics want to admit. America is founded upon "Freedom of Religion"...that means ALL religions, including all the Pagan ones... and Muslims, and Buddists, and Taoists, and Jews, and even the Christians. But no ONE group has the right to pressure any store into discrimination of any sort based on religion...be it in the employees they hire or the products they sell.Flag
