When you’re feeling under the weather, cold, or just want cheering up, there’s no better way to do it than with a luxurious mug of hot chocolate. This gorgeous Hot Chocolate recipe is great fun to make with kids as it’s easy and tastes wonderful, which being easily customisable so you can fill it full of all your favourite things! Ingredients 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate 3 cups whole milk Dash of salt Marshmallows Procedure - To make hot chocolate, combine the water and semisweet chocolate in a medium-size saucepan. - Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted. - Bring the mixture to a boil for 2 minutes, then reduce the heat to low. - Stir in 3 cups of milk--whole milk tastes best but use low-fat milk if you prefer-- and a dash of salt. - Warm the mixture for 5 to 7 minutes or until it is heated through. - Add a dash of cinnamon to create Mexican hot chocolate or a smattering of chocolate chips for a double chocolate drink. - To make mint hot chocolate, substitute about 1/2 cup mint chocolate chips for the semisweet chocolate. - Top with marshmallows and serve. crockpot recipes kids recipes easy and quick recipes
