Name: Gerald Powell on Nov 24, 2012Comments: I am really surprised at this I have been attending the hoot for a few years now, and I have always found this to be a warm and welcoming place, for an adult to go and have a drink without any problems. I wish you all the luck with this. Kind Regards Gerald PowellFlag

Name: Tim Lincoln on Nov 25, 2012Comments: This is one of London's best live music venues, in fact one of the best in the whole country. Complainer power is a scourge in Britain, why should one or two killjoys stop the pleasure of thousands and destroy a thriving business? If people want peace and quiet they should think about living somewhere out of the way, not in central London.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Nov 26, 2012Comments: Where does Athena live? I live at the end of Josephine Avenue, nearest end to Hootenanny, I have rarely been woken up, my window faces the pub, I sleep with it open - always!! I would also like to know when she moved to the area? It has been playing music for as long as I can remember - you don't move somewhere and then try to change what is there. It was playing music as the George Canning over 25 years ago" The crowd are not bad, if ever I walk home late, I'm glad they are there - it makes me feel safer. By the amount of push bikes chained to the railings - they are not exactly a flash lot!! Cans and bottles are cleared up. What is wrong with people having fun? maybe Athena should move to a quite place, where people go to bed at 10 and nothing is going on in the neighbourhood???? Why ruin things for the rest of us? We live in a great place, shall we shut the Ritzy? I'm sure they don't own the land outside the library, where they had tables and chairs outside in the summer - and goodness people drinking wine!!! Then the Academy, all those crowds in Brixton, you really can not get passed them all on the streets. Help, they have opened Taboo, next to KFC, more people enjoying themselves!! Of course the Hootenanny needs to make profits, who or how else can keep that huge building alive??? I have not been there for years - think I will start going. They have great bands, and I just see a nice crowd going there. I'm a resident and Tax payer, I want to live in a vibrant area, not some dead place full of supermarkets and empty buildings./ pubs/ etc Please may I suggest earplugs for Athena. And on another note - Athena says - drunken louts and noisy pubs." Are there others she would like closed??? There is so much real rotten things going on in life - people need to have places to enjoy themselfs.Flag
