Petition to the Hong Kong government to allocate new sites for new International Schools in Hong Kong Mr. CY Leung Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR. Dear Mr. CY Leung We would like to submit to your attention a petition from Hong Kong expatriates and potential new comers in Hong Kong, all parents of kids in school age and meeting more and more difficulties to find place for our kids in Hong Kong international schools. Expatriates are one of the core elements of the success of the Hong Kong economy and we are proud of our contribution to such a welcoming community and unique city. We think that it is in the common interest of the Hong Kong community as a whole and of the Hong Kong economy that, expatriates can land in Hong Kong without the worry that they may not find any place in any international school for their kids as for the expatriates already in Hong Kong that as their family grows, they will not have to leave Hong Kong due to the dramatic shortage of place available in international school in the city. Therefore, we would like that under your authority, the government of Hong Kong acts swiftly, in other words within few month, to allocate a minimum of five new sites to different international school organizations for new schools that should be able to open by august 2014 to cope with the growing need of place for our kids. Number of sites in north Kowloon, Lama and Lantau island and other parts of the new territories are suitable for International Schools. We duly understand that a number of parameters have to be taken into consideration before you can allocate sites, however, in front of the dramatic shortage of place in the city there is no more time to spare. We hope that our petition will receive your careful attention and that you will be able to address and answer our concern either through a communication to Legco or a press communicate.
