BelgianBESave one of the few authentic places on Gozo, which has already suffered from too many developments in the last ten years I have been visiting this beautifull island.

MalteseMTIt is one of our few natural resourses we gozitans have and treasure. Leave it as it is. The authorities being "Maltese" like us should know better than to destroy it. Behave like GENTLEMEN.
Canadian & MalteseCAStop this insanity now! Leave Hondoq ir-Rummien alone. Malta doesn't need another expensive resort ruining a naturally beautiful bay. This is another attempt by greedy and unscrupulous developers to make loads of money.
malteseGBhow sad as usual people in high places have no common sense. gozo and malta are ruined with all this over development. by the end of it we will end up with no tourists and empty hotels which will all be turned into flats! i just feel sick at the thought of how our beautiful islands have turned into SHAME ON YOU WHO IS ALLOWING THIS!
MalteseMTStop this rape to our nature pls!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
MalteseMTDear Prime Minister, Please listen to the thousands of citizens who are clamouring for your government to stop supporting the developers and to recognise the damage you have allowed them to cause to our lovely islands. Not only is Malta becoming unbearable to live in for its own citizens but tourists and other visitors are keeping away because it now has a most unpleasant reputation as a land full of cars, roads and ugly buildings and vulgarity.

BritishCHMy family and I have been visiting Gozo for well over 10 years and are truly horrified to hear of this "development" project. Having travelled the world and seen many projects that have caused irreversible damage, to satisfy the chosen few, we can only add our voices to this petition in the hope it will make a difference.
MalteseGBOur Islands won't be worth visiting if there is nothing natural and beautiful to see. Please, please save our areas of natural beauty and don't crowd the landcape with these developments.

BritishGBThis should not be allowed to go ahead under any circumstances. How can Qala deal with the heavy traffic from the builders and then the new occupants of the villas etc? Will the developer be considering carving up the countryside to put in suitable roads for all the extra traffic. Stop and think before there is the same mayhem that we see on the mainland. Gozo should be and should remain a haven of peace for all those who escape from the ratrace of busy lives. who gains from this - only the greedy developer. Who loses? the innocent Gozitans and the foreigners who have chosen to live here because of its unique beauty. Where does Mrs Debona stand on this? Is she willing to stand up and be counted? When will we see her protests against the development in parliament?
BritishUSI have been coming to this beach for at least 11 years I can`t imagine it being ingulfed in to a yacht marina and the rest Be sure that you residents can say by by to that bay Once they start they won`t stop Keep up the good work Movement You are doing the right thing and safe guarding nature Ron
malteseMTVery impressive site and informative too I am 100% behind you guys
MalteseMTHondoq is a unique jewel to our island which will be a sin to develop it. Let us appreciate what nature gave us!
MalteseMTHondoq should be saved from this monstrous progect. It should be left in its natural state. Gozo is a small island and raping the few beaches left means total destruction of the islands unique mysterious culture. Once gone, Gozo will turn like Malta. A CONCRETE JUNGLE.
GermanMTI do own a House in Qala , 36 Razzett Cawsli , Triq Tas-Salib , Qala , QLA 1810 , Ghawdex. I am already fedup with Trucks ngoing up and down our Road , with this " Project " it will come worse.Thatfore I am against it. Thank you.

BritishMTThis development can only be detrimental to the locality and to tourism in general, as it will spoil the very thing people come here for, peace and tranquility
MalteseMTTo all money hungry developers: Hands off Gozo! Please respect the wishes of the Gozitans and stop destroying their beautiful island. In the end the money you love so much will destroy you!!!
BritishGBI have been visiting Hondoq for the past 22 years and would hate to see it closed or changed in any way.
BritishGBI have been a regular visitor to Hondoq for the past 27 years and feel strongly that it should remain available to the local people and tourists in general, not just the chosen few.
BritishGBPlease don't spoil our favourite swimming area.
BritishGBDo not allow a massive development of Hondoq. It is beautiful as it is.

EnglishGBI have been gooing to Gozo for over 30 years. Please don't spoil beautiiful Hondoq! Why do you need more hotels when Il Mgarr and Atlantis are closing down. Destroying a beautiful place certainly won't encourage more tourists. Think of the enviromental damage to the island too.Keep Hondoq for the people of Gozo!

DutchNLIn the long term, plans like these will destroy the unique character of Gozo. As a result Gozo (and Malta) will line up with the other touristic areas where short term profit is the main focus instead of a long term vision that focuses on the unique character and the competitive advantages and keeping Gozo (and Malta) attractive for future generations (local and visiting).

MalteseMTGozo is an extremely unique island and has a natural beauty. It's attraction is because of it's uniqueness. What a crying shame to spoil Hondoq by this awful proposal.
