Madison, AL.--Do You Want a Trailer Next to Your Home??

Do you want a trailer moving in beside your home? If you own property in Madison, Alabama and do not want to see your property value go down the toilet because of a decision your neighboring propery has chosen, such as erecting a portable trailer within 15 feet of your own property line, please support this petition. Our primary homes are our biggest investment, our biggest tax deduction, the place we call "home" and want to raise our children. I live in a neighborhood which restricts these type of structures, however the property behind ours is in a different subdivision and is putting a doublewide right behind my back yard. Many things go into purchasing your own home. Ours were convenience, quietness, view of the woods behind me, school zones, privacy, covenant restrictions for my own subdivision and many other factors. I did not buy a home in my neighborhood to sit on my deck and look at a trailer. We all know these structures devalue the property surrounding it, not to mention that they are ugly. We are very upset that this has been done without notifying the surrounding properties so that we could have had an option. We are starting this petition in hopes that other homeowners who also care about their property value, view,privacy and don't want money stolen from them from the sale of their own home please join in on the petition requiring some guidelines on how portable buildings are allowed and maintained in the city of Madison. This petition when finished will be sent to the City Officials of Madison in hopes that something more can be done. Do you want a trailer moving in behind your home?
