Name: Jeanmarie Kuntze on Oct 25, 2007Comments: As a resident of Ashburn, I would just like to know exactly what will be built and done out of the thrift store/admin offices/drop-in day shelter. The site should benefit the surrounding community AND those in need. At this point in time, I do not feel this facility would be geographically located those that need it the most.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Oct 25, 2007Comments: Absolutely unbelievable that these elected officials voted for this. We already have to deal with the gun battles every weekend at the low-income apartments and now they want us to deal with a homeless shelter !!!!! I will vote to oust these officials and if this homeless place is built in my backyard I am moving my home & business out of Loudoun County.Flag

There is a reason we pay what we do to live here and to keep our families safe from crime and sheltered from this type of population. This type of place is better utilized in a different type of lower income area where there is a greater need for it.Flag

Name: Beth Holcomb on Oct 25, 2007Comments: It would be just ABSURD to put this facility in Ashburn. It is ill fitted and will ruin the current community. I will NEVER shop, eat or take our dance classes next door to that place again. I will encourage all family, friends and neighbors to do likewise. This facility does not belong in Ashburn. I am outraged! Ashburn does not have the "problems" that this "center" would bring us. You will RUIN our town and turn it into something else. I certainly won't VOTE for anyone who supports this center coming to Ashburn, either!Flag

Name: Sandra Lehrer on Oct 25, 2007Comments: When I first read the provisions for this development, it did not give me cause for concern. The whole project does now. I am very active with several charities and have no desire to neglect those in need. This has not been thought out carefully and given the additonal information, definitely not a good fit for a village such as Ashburn with families and senior citizens.Flag

Collet on Oct 25, 2007Comments: As a Christian, I understand the need for a program to reach out to those who need it, HOWEVER, the LOCATION that has been selected to provide these services and resources is NOT APPROPRIATE!! We should not HAVE to provide a harbor in our neighborhood at the expense of our families safety. I will pray that God will guide us all to the best win/win solution.Flag

Name: Brenda Jacobs on Oct 25, 2007Comments: Why would you want to bus people to an area away from where they currently 'live' And what do people expect them to do when the center is not open Has no one considered that if they get meals at that location, they may as well 'live' on the streets near there I can't believe the sneaky way this has been pushed on our community. I have to question how many of the supporters actually live anywhere close to the location.Flag
