| 501 | PatrickG.Jacobs | My wife would be happy to sign this petition if necessary. |
| 502 | Stephen M. Price | Old Ashburn is not an appropriate location for a homeless shelter. This area is a common gathering point for families who bike on the nearby W&OD Trail and for those who frequent Partlows General Store. There can be no doubt that a homeless shelter will attract some that have criminal records. I see no reason to risk any potential harm to innocent citizens by placing this controversial facility so close to areas that young children visit. |
| 503 | Fred Hufnagel | Just not right for Ashburn. |

| 505 | Anonymous | Why in the world would they choose a location close to a preschool and elementary school. What will they have to say if something happens to a child due to their facility. I am sure there are better/safer locations for this, like near Beaumeade Circle, where there are lim.ited homes |
| 506 | Anonymous | I am sure all of the people in favor of this facility live no where near it. |

| 514 | Matt McConnell | Your kidding right? A high-density residential area is not appropriate. A more likely location would have job opportunities available nearby. How do you plan on providing transportation to these folks? |

| 516 | Christen MacMillan | I am absolutely opposed to this action!
While I can appreciate the need for a facility serving the working poor and homeless population in Loudoun county, the proposed location is unacceptable.
The proposed location is directly off the very busy WO&D trail, where thousands of families and their children stop to rest, picnic and enjoy the outdoors. In addition, the increase in traffic from persons who are often difficult to identify and locate, introduces greater risk to our neighborhood children, as there are several schools, and neighborhood playgrounds within close walking distance.
Finally, I am outraged that, as an active community member (who has appeared at previous Loudoun Cty Board Meetings in the past) was unaware of this initiative--and the board's subsequent decision--until hearing news of it in my HAIR SALON after the fact! Shame on Loudoun and this board of directors for failing to undertake greater efforts to inform its constituents of such a controversial proposal! I'll remember this come voting day!
Sincerely,
Christen M. MacMillan |

| 520 | Anonymous | Ashburn is a family town, with a dispportionate number of children. As far as I know, there are NO homeless here, nor do we want to draw any homeless here. Having a shelter or even the admin. offices here is asking for trouble and I am against it. Why not open a shelter and thrift store in a town/city that actually has a need for one? Let's keep Ashburn safe for Ashburn residents! Also, why even have a thrift store? The VAST majority of Ashburn residents do not need to shop at a thrift store and again, we're asking for trouble by having one here. If Ashburn does not have a problem with homeless people, let's not invite homeless people here and therefore open the door for having a problem with homeless people! |
| 521 | don rice | I am a resident of Ashburn Station. The facility, as it now stands, is a terrible eyesore and is likely to negatively impact home values in the area. Now the situation is being exacerbated by bussing in potentially dangerous individuals into a family neighborhood. Aren't we protected by zoning laws. There must be a better solution |

| 524 | Katharine Kernan | I have worked 20 years in an inner city ER, I have seen many homeless people, some are drug addicts, but most have serious mental health issues, with aggressive, violent behaviors against anyone who comes near and most all of them are men. They are usually non-compliant with thier medications and are very dangerous.
We live down the O&D path from Partlow's. We were burglarized in September, I have a teenage boy running the neighborhood with many of his friends, there is no way I want homeless people living in the woods around us to be close to a day center.
I spoke to a woman running the thrift tent, and she told me it was my responsibility to watch over my children at all times. We moved here because it was a safe neighborhood. Please do not let them have a homeless shelter, thrift shop or offices in Old Ashburn.
Thank you,
Kathy Kernan |

| 526 | Rick | GSA is making it as a nationwide campaign by sending their petition throughout the us and asking for signature. The people who signs the petition doesn't care about it becuase it's not in their neighbourhoods.
One thing that the Ashburn Village can do at this point is to close it's walkway entance on Glen Hazel Dr to Ashburn Rd. By closing the access we can send a strong signal to businesses and services on Ashburn Rd that we are serious about it and inturn it forces them to do something about it. |
| 527 | Debbie Fredrikson | I CAN'T BELIEVE PEOPLE WANT THIS IN ASHBURN!! |
| 528 | Maria White | This is not the right place for a shelter or drop in facility. Why wouldn't you put it into an area where there is a need and the people who need it have easy access to it. And why not put it near a retail center where there may be more opportunities for jobs and less friction with neighborhoods who are concerned for their children. |
| 529 | Anonymous | No shelter in old Ashburn or in the Ashburn area. This is inappropriate as are the GSA responses to actual planned use. Helping folks by lying to others? And invoking the Lord's name while doing this good service? |

| 532 | Randy McGillivray | As much of a good samaritan effort this homeless shelter would be, let us Ashburn residents not be naive about the possible nagtive consequences of this shelter. Are there really going to be various people making sure that the homeless people only go to the shelter once they get off the bus? If not, we really could be inviting diaster that could result in more homes being broke into, possible fights, and other crimes that could over extend the capabilities of the Loudon County Sheriff's Office. Now granted, not every homeless person will automatically look to commit crimes like bulgaries, etc. if unattended from constant supervision. But the chances that a few "bad" apples would come to shelter looking not for relief but crime opportuntiy needs to be seriously considered. |

| 537 | jill kalaris | I am not sure there could be a more absurd proposal than this. We have enough issues around the Ashburn area and now we would actually transport them into our areas and near our children? Please do whatever is needed to squash this and hold whomever is responsible for letting it get this far by not re-electing them! |

| 542 | Peter McGrath | I am opposed to GSA moving to Asburn. This is an egregious actions of elected official creating a problem where one did not exist. |
| 543 | Mary Bleier | |
| 544 | Jayson Zickafoose | I believe it is a good thought but wrong location. There must be clearly written polices on things of this sort. This will be abused by the wrong element and politicians use this sort of thing for the wrong reason. The question should be asked who will monitor this if it is to move forward and who will be responsible if crimes are committed for individuals staying there? Especially bussed in people. |
| 545 | Anonymous | Opposed to bussing homeless people to my area for safety reasons. |

| 547 | Eric Solomon | There is NOT a homeless problem in Ashburn!! Move this facility to a city where there IS a homeless population!! Don't kid yourself.. This is about BUCKS!! Not the homeless!! Otherwise they would have plan this facility where the homeless ACTUALLY are!! |
