The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors, a School Board member, and other community leaders have approved County funds and resources to be expended to support a homeless shelter in Old Ashburn, managed by the Good Shepherd Alliance.
They plan to re-route a County bus line to transport homeless, recently released prisoners, recovering drug addicts, mentally ill, and others into the heart of Old Ashburn.
Old Ashburn, according to the County's own development plan, is supposed to retain the look and feel of a "village."
Is a shelter for homeless an appropriate property usage in Old Ashburn?

We are concerned citizens of the Old Ashburn area. We are residents of Ashburn Village, Ashburn Farms, and numerous other small HOA's, as well as individual property owners, and business owners in the vicinity of Old Ashburn. We all love and care for Old Ashburn.

Election day is coming soon. Our elected leaders are responsible for allowing and abetting this issue to fly under the radar with no community input. Let's change that.
