Name: Amie Nguyen on Oct 10, 2005State: OKCountry: USComments: I have given birth to four children...two of them at home. Censoring information is not an effective means of imposing your beliefs. Parents whose children come into the world in any situation or circumstance should have the opportunity to share their joy with their community. Please reconsider... Amie C. NguyenFlag

Name: Mark Miller on Oct 10, 2005State: OKCountry: USComments: The Tulsa World "has perceived some liability surrounding printing home births"When I call the paper and ask to have any announcement printed (i.e. engagement, marriage, anniversary, birth, etc....) doesn't that constitute consent and eliminate any liability on the papers part Get a waiver of liability printed and have the parents sign it in advance of the homebirth. Then with a password or some other identifier, the parents can call or email the birth news and information thus allowing the paper to print it all. GET WITH IT TULSA WORLD!!!Flag

Name: Amber Sipes on Oct 21, 2005State: OKCountry: USComments: First time I heard that they didn't allow home birth announcements. How dumb is that Then again, it's oklahoma go figure. I suppose children born at the hospital are good enough for the newspaper but children born at home aren't Perhaps they need to remember their great great grandmothers did the same.Flag

Name: Kathleen Skodny on Oct 21, 2005State: GACountry: USComments: Having never had the opportunity/luxury of giving birth to a child, I find it very disappointing/odd that the birth of any child, any where would not be a reason to announce and celebrate--especially if born of proud parents who choose to do so. If for no other reason, publishing the announcements of home-births is pro-life. Please reconsider your policy. Thank you.Flag
