Name: Elena M Yates on Oct 15, 2007Comments: Planned Parenthood has been responsible for the death of over 48 million innocent lives since it started providing easy access to abortions! There is absolutely no excuse for a Catholic institution to actually invite such a group to speak about sex education!!Flag

Name: Pamela Houghton on Oct 15, 2007Comments: As a mother who continued a pregnancy after a prenatal diagnosis of Trisomy 13 for my unborn baby, I am appalled that in the name of being "intellectual" and "tolerent" pro-abortion organizations will be allowed on your campus to spread their disparaging views on unborn humans. Certainly there are enough secular outlets to provide them "airtime." The underrepresented view - prolife - should be the one championed by Holy Cross.Flag

Name: Rebecca McCloskey on Oct 15, 2007Comments: Dear Fr. McFarland, I am disappointed and upset to hear that a Catholic college is allowing groups that support abortion to be heard on campus. Abortion is wrong, and it is wrong to support it in any way. As Catholics, we are charged with upholding the truth, defending the most helpless of God's children, and reaching out to women in need, as Jesus taught. The Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy and it's partners Planned Parenthood and NARAL are blatantly pro-abortion. Their message is contrary to that of the Church. It is wrong to allow them onto your campus to spread their message. Please do not. My prayers are with you. God Bless.Flag

Name: Michael Barba on Oct 15, 2007Comments: As a Catholic college student, it hurts me very deeply to see such division within our Church as is present at Holy Cross College right now. It is distressing and deeply saddening to see the shepherds of the people abandon the teachings of Holy Mother Church, that same bride of Christ they pledged their lives to. I pray that at Holy Cross, speakers who stand firmly for the gift life in the face of our culture of death echo the voice of a unified Church through the voice of truth alone. Name: Danijela Brekalo on Oct 15, 2007Comments: Please do the right thing and not the politically correct thing and do not allow Planned Parenthood and NARAL to use your campus as a platform to spread their venomous agneda and brainwashing of young women and man. These are two of the most destructive forces in our society today, who in the interest of pushing their own agenda and (in the case of Planned Parenthood) making money of women's desparate situations, are robbing women and underage girls of the real choice - to make a fully informed decision about their own lives and the lives of thier children.Flag

Name: ELizabeth Goodwin on Oct 15, 2007Comments: Dear Fr. McFarland, Abortion is a sign that we have not met the needs of young women today. Planned Parenthood does nothing to improve young pregnant women's situation. By allowing them to come to a Catholic Campus, you are preaching the most harmful, abusive, and disrespectful message to young women in particular, and the whole public in general. In the name of Jesus, I ask you to reconsider your actions. Sincerely, Elizabeth GoodwinFlag

This is an afront to Catholics, to our Church and to our teens. Please reconsider and find someone who will speak the Christian truth to teens.Flag

Name: Katherine Andrzejewski on Oct 15, 2007Comments: Dear Fr. McFarland and the Board, I think that is ridiculous that you would welcome Planned Parenthood onto your campus. I am insulted for the women on your campus, as I am the exact demographic they will be targeting- twenty-something, female college students. I am well aware of the illegal things that PP will do to establish a parasitic relationship with other organizations in order to advance their deadly agenda. As an involved pro-life resident of Illinois- where PP has done their best to open an abortion fortress- I can agree that it is not the prudent to "shun" Planned Parenthood. You do do that and the will laugh at your impotency. I am all for engaging Planned Parent, but inviting them to your campus is not the best way to do that. Please consider the consequences of your continued approval.Flag

Name: David E. Dowd on Oct 15, 2007Comments: Fr. McFarland clearly finds his justification in scheduling the MATP Conference in "Standing for the Unborn" the Jesuit pro life position statement found on www.jesuit.org does not reflect the guidance Veritatis Splendor and Ecclesia Dei provide for Catholic Institutions. Holy Cross long stood for solid Catholic education in my parent's and grandparent's generations. If this event goes on as scheduled, parent's who might invest $40,000 for their children's education should seriously question whether the college has the capacity to form a solid Catholic conscience on matters of faith and morals. Name: Peter Brancewicz on Oct 15, 2007Comments: Dear Fr. McFarland, Please do not allow Planned Parenthood to speak on the Holy Cross campus. Planned Parenthood can speak off-campus and the students who wish to attend can do so. It is with great sadness that I say to you that if you no longer believe in the teachings of the Holy Roman Catholic Church perhaps you should resign your position as president of the college and ask the bishop for his help in obtaining from the Holy Father a release for you from the vows you took when you were ordained a priest; better this then to lead many to perdition by your example while continuing to wear the Roman collar while you appear to no longer be in communion with Rome. Kind regards, Peter BrancewiczFlag
