Name: Robert Belina on Mar 23, 2003State: NYCountry: USComments: I want to protest your tasteless broadcasting of the Academy Awards show tonight. During a day when U.S. soldiers were taken prisoner, some murdered execution-style and the others tortured and paraded on Iraqi TV, I think it was appalling that you would air a show where the anti-war sentiment was as thick as pea-soup. I don't know who is worse - ABC-TV or al Jazerra. I don't think you give a damn what pain and hurt you caused to Americans who support the troops - because obviously that patriotic sentiment is something you are totally incapable of comprehending.Flag

That is their job, they are not qualified or informed enough to speek for America. Their lifestyles and blind left views shelter them from believing facts that don't support their views.Flag

We need to stop spending time and money on Hollywood. This point shouldve been brought up long before the war. You wackjobs-celebs are over paid. And if America spent more money on aid for the homeless, abuse in families, our environment, we would live in a better place. We need to stop spending so much money on the entertainment industry. Stop letting kids think that Britney Spears is the only meaning to life!!! Plastic Surgery makes Plastic People....Flag

It really troubles me that Martin Sheen who plays the President on TV is speaking out like he is. I was also very surprised at his lack of education and he is playing the President of the U. S. West Wing has been my favorite TV program. I don't feel that way about it anymore.Flag

Name: Steven Ellsworth on Jan 17, 2006State: GACountry: USComments: Actors and movies have a prominent place in our culture. They can provide needed relief from our everyday lives, a little fantasy never hurts occasionally. But, when actors and directors attempt to politcise their viewpoints to a gullable public then it is time to take action and remind the public that actors live only in a ego driven world where fantasy rules. With their riches (which they DON'T share with the "poor"),they have no idea what it is to live in the real world so they should not try to shape it. I wonder if they would have the courage to enrage the extremist muslims and talk about women leaders and women's rights for example. I guess their ability to critize governments is limited to ours--based on fear and lack of courage! Actors should form a group and go to Iran and speak freely on any subject--please don't hold anything back and I wonder what the reaction would beFlag
