Holiday Beach Homeowners

I believe it is in the best interest of the membership to amend the Holiday Beach By-Laws by restricting the number of co-owners and husbands and wives who can serve on our Board of Trustees. At present, there is no limit as to how many co-owners or husbands and wives, can hold the office of Trustee. If there were four (4) members from one ownership, they could control the outcome of all of our Homeowner Association business.
Co-owners, including husbands and wives, of properties who are not Trustees are allowed only one (1) vote.

To place this issue on the agenda for the upcoming meeting, we must follow the Holiday Beach By-Law Amendments which reads as follows. "9.2 The membership may, by a petition of twenty-five percent (25%) of the number of members voting at the preceding Annual Meeting, initiate By-Laws or Articles of Incorporation amendment proposal(s) and cause said proposal(s) to be placed on a ballot at the next meeting of the general membership."  We need 17 signatures to have the following item placed on the May 2011 agenda of the Holiday Beach Home Tracts annual meeting and be voted on by the membership.
Our proposed amendment is to add the closing sentence to Article 4.1.

Only one (1) member of co-owners, including husbands and wives,
shall hold the office of Trustee.

The present Article 4.1 reads as follows.

4.1 The powers of this non-profit corporation shall be vested in a Board of Trustees, hereinafter referred to as “Trustees.”  The number of Trustees who shall manage the affairs of the corporation shall be seven (7).

Remember, this petition is just for the purpose of having this issue placed on the  May 2011 agenda to be voted on by the membership.

Please join me in this effort.
